I see a potential for using the UMA-8 as a hearing assistive device - particularly for human conversations, etc...

Is it possible to use this mic array as a stand alone device with a low power amplifier driving a noise isolating in ear headphone?

or maybe connect the UMA-8 to an iphone to be used as an external microphone?

thanks for any input.

@woodenworker

An interesting application which few ppl already mentioned before. Not sure how that would work with "a low power amplifier driving a noise isolating in ear headphone".. The device always require a PC/Android to work. With an iphone you'd need to use a USB camera kit.
