Hi,

I am looking for a USB interface for a custom PDM microphone array, and the UMA-16 interface looks ideal.

I understand the UMA-16 uses a nanoSHARC for processing and streaming. Does the nanoSHARC supplied with the UMA-16 use a different firmware to the standard nanoSHARC, or could I purchase a nanoSHARC only and implement it with my custom array?

Also, has the nanoSHARC USB Audio interface been tested with Linux at all?

Thanks,
Steve

@Steve

The nanoSHARC is indeed similar hardware but the IP loaded is different (firmware). The UMA16 actually took us a lot of effort to put together (Custom multichannel PDM to PCM for high quality conversion in the SHARC) for that reason, we only sell the UMA16 for support to PDM to PCM I'm afraid... :-( Hoping you understand.

As for Linux, the UMA16 is a standard UAC2 device, it's indeed discovered fine by Linux. While we don't provide customer support for it, we do have few threads on this forum for Linux + UAC and how to enable/configure it.
