Hello!

I am having a problem with freshly bought & delivered miniDSP UMA-8 microphone array.

When I plug it into the USB, the hardware seems to work fine, the red LEDS are on, and I can use SW1-4 to manually switch beam direction or turn on DoA estimation mode, which is also fine.

The problem start with installed GUI software. I am on Windows 10.

Both UAC2 Control Panel and UAC2 Firmware Upgrade see the board for a moment, and then it disconnects again, and then it again appears for a short moment, and so on and so fourth endlessly.

From what I am able to see in those short moments is the following info on UAC2 Firmware Upgrade tool:

- Manufacturer: miniDSP
- Product: miniDSP micArray XVSM UAC2.0
- VIP/PID: 0x2752/0x001C
- Serial number:
- Current firmware: v6.30

I was thinking about reflashing the firmware but I am not sure if this is a good idea since the device continuosly connects/disconnects.

Thanks for any help in advance,
Ivan

Hi,

I also got this issue with the UMA-8.

I installed the drivers miniDSP_UAC2_v4.11.0_2017-06-19_setup.exe and updated the firmware.
But when I try to setup it in my recording devices or try to record any sounds, the UMA-8 got disconnected then reconnected instantly and windows tells me that this device is not recognized.

Any idea what I can do ?

Same issue here, on Debian though. The UMA-8 device gets repeatedly connected-disconnected (seen in dmesg) as soon the CPU charge raises. We suspect either a bus overload or insufficient USB power (the mic itself doesn't reboot)

Solution found: use an "Y" cable with two USB plugs on the one end, and a mini-USB on the other end (cables used for connecting hard drives to mini PCs such as Ras Pi). No more disconnections issues, probably due to the limited power available on these PCs.
