Hi folks,

want to thank you guys for a nice product.
Though you could maybe make some improvements in the manuel. I have a few questions to the settings:

- Description to Bypass mode 3,4 is missing in the manual. What does they do?
- Mic Shift: "left shift of microphone input signal can be used to boost the gain of the MEMS"
What does it mean? Are you shifting the bits of the signal? Are you shifting the actuall mics?
- BF Direction: "0: 360 degree , 1: end‐fire 1, 2: end‐fire 2, 3: line array "
What does 360 degree, end-fire 1, end-fire 2 and line array mean? maybe you can explain a little bit more.
I did a few test and it doesn't seem to change much.

Cheers
Philip

Edit: Also what does the 4 LED on the back mean? (Found no explenation)
1. LED: VAD active
2. LED: ???
3. LED: ???
4. LED: DOA Detection active

Philip

indeed, nobody knows apart from us.. ;-) Sorry for missing your post..

- Bypass: Not sure to understand that question. :-( As per 18 of manual you mean? Only 0/1/2 positions.

- Mic shift: It's indeed a trick to increase the gain. i.e. shift the bits.

- 360 = In the 360° beamformer, the space around the beamformer is divided to separate directions with separate filters. Similar to having multiple lobes and selecting only one... Read a bit online about beamformer, you'll learn more as it's hard to start turning a thread into the topic.. :-) Check out more info here about endfire beamforming (first google link) www.invensense.com/wp-content/uploads/20...rray-Beamforming.pdf

- LED: Only the first and LED are enabled/used now.

Thank you for your answer.

I try to make my questions clear.

Bypass: Like seen in the picture it is possible that you can switch "bypass on" to mode 3 and 4 which are not discribed in the manual. Maybe it is a bug, but you can select them.

Mic Shift: So there are two alternatives how to increase the mic gain? what would you prefer to increase first? (AGC turned off)

BF Direction: Thank you that you explained 360° Beamformer. Another question is what is the difference between endfire 1 and endfire 2? I know the basics how the endfire beamformer works.
