I've been trying to devise a test setup that allows me to evaluate and tune AEC on the UWA-8. My initial tests have been some video conferencing demos with the WebRTC sample apps. Turning AEC on and off doesn't make a difference, and I think one reason is because it turns out WebRTC itself has AEC built-in. That said, I've also gone off and read up on how AEC works to try and refine my approach. Which has led to more questions specific to the UWA-8 implementation. I sense this may be a deep rabbit hole. Hoping folks here can advise me on best approach to save me some time. Here are my two specific questions:

1. AEC (for my application) basically watches the inbound signal (played on a speaker) and tries to filter it from the outbound signal (from the local microphone). Considering signal path, does the UWA-8 need to be both the speaker output and microphone input for the on board AEC to work? If not how is the UWA-8 determining/getting the inbound signal?

2. Does anyone know of a recommended setup and tool chain to evaluate AEC?

Thanks much in advance!
