I'm trying to get information about how I can replace the UMA-8 mic array signal processing with my own as direct access to the 8ch of microphones is not currently available.

Looking at the spec sheet it would appear that there is a JTAG connector "for custom code." Is this something I would be able to utilize, if so how? Assuming that it would require utilizing the XMOS dev kit.

Good news! The raw mode firmware is now available. Simple firmware upgrade of the xmos as per user manual. Please check out the user downloads section. It's all there!

There is indeed a JTAG port but so far don't have a release time for JTAG + XMOS.
