I am trying to repair a U-DAC8 for a friend who accidentally plugged in a 12V supply and was wondering if you know what might have burned out, if anything. I am quite surprised not to see an onboard regulator, which would avoid this sort of problem and would probably make it sound better, too. I am getting a blue flashing LED on the main DAC board but no Power On LED externally. It appears something is being recognised by the PC since an HD Sound device has popped up in Device manager but I would need to know where to download the proper drivers to make proper sense of it. This is at least somewhat hopeful.

I assume the XMOS board is all powered by the USB 5V and won't have seen the 12V from the supply. Is that the case? If so then there's not an awful lot left to do other than perhaps change the AK4440.

Any help would be much appreciated on this as it would be a shame to bin it.

Many thanks in advance.
