Hi,
Was hoping to get a little help. I never recorded using 6 tracks. I tried googling recording software for six and or eight channel recording. I found MixPad . Would that work with the UDIO-8?

Also,
If anyone is familiar with 6 channels recording, what software do they use?

I can confirm that UDIO-8 AES records 5.1 perfectly. Yay :cheer:

I ended up writing my own app using Naudio library. It was like 10 lines of code. It is bit for bit perfect I confirmed with a spectrum app.

Not sure why there is no app that you simply pick a device, (bit depth, sampling rate,) # of channels and hit record. I spent more time testing trying to find an app than creating one.

I got Audacity to record in 2 channels only. It also plays 5.1 wav which as handy to analyze the 6 tracks with their GUI.

My audio system (has a mod that) outputs bit for bit perfect 5.1 AES. When I saw this device I had to give it a whirl despite never recording anything in my life.

@dmaslow

Very cool! Good job doing making your own software!
Audacity isn't really a multichannel.. We use Reaper over here for multichannel. Works great..

Have fun with your project. We look forward to hearing more!
