Hi there,

I'm having trouble with my new UDIO-8 in that it doesn't seem to output audio. I'm assuming that it's user error...

My setup is as follows:

MacBook Pro -> USB cable -> UDIO-8 -> DB25 AES/EBU breakout cable output 1-2 -> Yamaha HS-8 Monitor

I am currently plugging the breakout cable directly into my monitor, which has an XLR input. Previously I was running an XLR cable between the two - is it bad to run XLR cable instead of AES/EBU?

Also, I'm not sure which version of the firmware to use since UDIO doesn't seem to get it's own firmware, instead it appears to use the USBStreamer firmware. I updated the firmware using USBStreamer firmware and it appears to be version 4.11 with 8 ins 8 outs. I'm not convinced that I installed the right firmware though given the lack of sound coming out of the monitor.

Any help is much appreciated, I apologize for my utter n00bness.

@ Forrest

Well, we could be very wrong but I think that it's expect to not work and got nothing to do with the UDIO8 though.. :-)
Did you realize that your monitor is an analog Input on that XLR in?

The UDIO is USB to AES-EBU (Digital signal as per here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AES3). You'd need a DAC here in your setup between the UDIO-8 and Analog input of the HS8.
Maybe we missed something?
