U-DAC8 bit depth 6 years 1 month ago #31530

I am using JRiver to play audio/video

If I use WASAPI, JRiver tells me that the output format is 24-bit padded which I believe means that it is sending out 24-bit wrapped in 32-bit
If I use ASIO it tells me the output is 32-bit

My question is: in ASIO mode shall I switch on the "Device uses only most significant 24 bits (Lynx, etc)" or not?
So in other words, shall I send 24-bit or 32-bit format to the U-DAC8?
Thank you in advance

@ Peter,

Both will be the same actually.. :-) The DAC is 24bit. So whether you send 32 or 24bit, the DAC can only make sure of 24bit.
We're not sure of that setting of ASIO, we've never heard or used it before.. I don't think you'd have to select it per say.
