Hi folks - I'm excited to learn more about the U-DAC8. I'm hoping it may prove to be viable solution for me. So here's my situation/question... I'm currently running an Asus Essence ST with the H6 daughter board to provide analog 5.1 out of my PC. I listen to stereo & multi channel music. I use JRiver & like their DSP options a lot, however there are times I'd like to use the DSP options on my AVR as well. On my AVR the multi channel analog inputs can't be passed through the DSPs, so in order to be able to have the option to use JRiver's DSPs and my AVR's DSPs, I must run the 5.1 analog out through a Zektor switchbox with 5.1 analog out going to the multichannel inputs on one path and stereo analog going to a stereo input on the AVR on another path. Lots of cables, etc. With the U-DAC8, in the setup would it be possible to map a copy of the fronts to the surround rears (channels 7 & 8, which I wouldn't be using for music)? This would allow me to split the stereo only output out without needing the switchbox. If that isn't possible, I'd put that forward as a request. I'll bet I'm not the only person that would find that handy... Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure I understand the question... however the U-DAC8 is just USB channel x -> analog output x, it itself doesn't do any mixing or routing. I guess i"m not sure why you don't use a Y-connector on the left and right fronts, or for that matter why you need to use the stereo input on the AVR at all?
