Looking over the board, it seems like the MiniDAC-8 has connectors for balanced outputs. Do you have an specifications on these? Are they 2volts or something different? Are they active? Where is the output for channel 8? Do you have any information on what the unlabeled headers go to?

I'm not sure where you're getting your information.
The miniDAC8 uses an AK4440 chip with unbalanced outputs. Looking at the photograph, I see no circuitry to create active balanced outputs....unless it's a pseudo-balanced output with a 560 ohm resistor to ground for a pseudo "-" output.

Check the AK4440 data sheet for specifications regarding the output voltage and other specs you might be interested in.

Dave.

Thanks. It was an assumption on my part. Looking at the board are headers labeled ch12, 34, 56, etc. I noticed that each of these headers had 3 pins for each channel. I didn't know if these were balanced outputs since balanced connections use 3 pins... Any idea what these headers are for?

@ Sly,

Dave is right, these are unbalanced outputs as per the miniDAC8. No balanced out on this board I'm afraid. If you need balanced out you're looking at the wrong board.
These headers are for internal use for another application (aka upcoming product).
