where a minidsp is being used as an eq (not in combo with crossover) for a speaker,
is there a way to then use it (with those filters) to then to record to a music file (i.e. to a flash drive)? i.e. to be able to play that dsp adjusted file back through a different stereo system (one that the minidsp cannot be set up with nor inserted into- i.e its a balanced system) so the speakers can be played (using the music that has now been embeded with the minidsp filters) ?

thx

i.e. is there a way to import the eq files into Audacity ? or to adjust a file in Audacity with the dsp filters?

additionally,
I tried to take the output from the minidsp into the mac headphone jack swithced to input but nothing came through? If it would I could then record track into Audacity.

Am I missing something by trying to connect output rca from 1 and 3 output of minidsp into the mac? thx

well if you play around enough you end up answering your own question

fyi
needed to re-set up quicktime to 'record', this somehow gets the signal into Audacity to record (once you've set the headphone jack on the MacBook Pro to input) and take a pair of the RCA outs from the minidsp (I used chan 1 and 3) to 3.5mm

this gives you a dsp filtered record- from which you can play out via another system w/o dsp and directly to your speakers (that were optimized with the minidsp)...
