Hi,

I am new to the forum but have been using a minDSP2x4HD for a few years now and been super happy with the performance and flexibility it offers. I have begun the process of refurbishment my Martin Logan CLS/Kinergetics SW-100 system. I have been using the DSP to roll off the panels with a LR filter and a Kinergetics SW-800 crossover on the subs because it incorporates the BSC Compusound circuitry that is designed for the woofers. I don't know much (anything really) about the Bennett Sound Corporation (BSC) circuit (Audiogon has a post saying "They also use a funky forward distortion feedback Compusound circuitry", but I can't find any real technical information on the circuit and wonder if anyone has any information on it, or better, any idea on how to emulate it with a DSP. The MiniDSP seems almost infinitely flexible and the SW-800 is getting pretty long in the tooth.

Many Thanks,

Mike

Did you get an Answer to this? I also have the Kinergetics setup and the orginal BSC stereo amp along with the Compusound II Mono Amps and a Mini DSP 2x4. Great products just tough to find any information.

LK and Thank you in advance,

The answer I got was to give up on the BSC stuff - not very helpful. I'd like to come up with a strategy for transitioning to the MiniDSP, but I don't know enough about the BSC circuit to set up the Mini. What I understand is that it BSC is a feed-forward circuit, i.e. a servo mechanism of some sort that enhances the the low frequency response. Just running the signal into the Mini to grab the low freq signal and feed it to the amp powering the kinergetics isn't very satisfying. As they say, trust your ears - I can't figure out how to set up the Mini to sound as nice as the BSC crossover. However, I am using the Mini to high pass the signal to my Martin Logans.

Note: I do have a Mic and REW software, so I can see what the transfer function looks like allowing me to blend the panels and woofers - and I can see the low-freq boost in the BSC crossover.
