I have a new 2x4HD. I downloaded the 2x4HD 4way adv plugin and ran it (after uninstalling an earlier 2x4 plugin I used for an older 2x4 miniDSP I'm using as a cross over).
I can run the 4way adv and load a xml config file into the software but when I try to synch it to the DSP I get a message that my laptop can't connect to the DSP, and to connect the board.
I have nothing connected to the DSP yet, I was planning to load a file in first and then connect it to the speakers.
I've checked Device Manager and there is an entry for "miniDSP dfu" marked with a yellow triangle.
I have tried to update the drivers but Windows can't find one and I can't find one on the Mini page or in the folder where the plugin was loaded on my computer.
I'm running Windows 10 64bit.

Mmmh, indeed that would be a problem. Wrong plugin I'm afraid.
Please read the user manual to learn a bit more of the platform? It will really help I think.

The right plugin is the 2x4HD. It will include all drivers.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't realize I needed both.

I still cannot connect the software to the dsp.
I have downloaded the 2HD software and installed the drivers as you suggested. I connected my DSP to the laptop via the usb cable, powered it on and then loaded the drivers for Windows 10. During the driver installation I get a message saying it is uninstalling the old drivers, then it installs the drivers again. At the end when the "finish" window comes up there is a pop-up which says that I have to disconnect and reconnect the device before the installation is complete. And it asks if I want to exit the program and reconnect the device later. If I click "yes" the program closes and when I connect the device the MiniDSP software is unable to connect.

If I click "no" the pop-up window closes and I back to the "finish" window.
1. If I just click finish without disconnecting the device, the same pop-up window opens again.
2. If I disconnect the device and then reconnect it then hit finish the same pop-up window opens again;
3. If I disconnect the device and leave it disconnected and then hit finish the same pop-up window opens again;
No matter what I do the software refuses to connect to my Minidsp.

I have manually uninstalled the drivers and I still get the above.
I have tried all of the usb ports on my computer. On one occasion the pop-up window telling me to disconnect the device did NOT appear and the program closed when I clicked "finish". But the software still would not connect to the device.
I don't get a "software not found" message.
The MiniDsp control panel shows the dsp as connected, but the software still can't connect.

I have the same problem as Jim. New MiniDSP 2x4 HD/ WIN 10 /64bit pro install. Drivers (miniDSP_UAC2_v4.47.0_ForWin7_8_10) seem to load ok until I get the same pop-up problem as Jim did. No MiniDSP driver found in Device Manager. Installed driver signed in as administrator. MiniDSP plugin loaded ok. Blue led is flashing...

unfortunately we've never seen this issue before... Easiest would be to start a tech support ticket with our team (support.minidsp.com).
They are the official support and will be able to help figure out what is going on here.

The two main things I'd check first are whether the latest versions of the 2x4 HD plugin and firmware are being uses, and whether temporarily disabling any anti-virus software may help.

Saw somewhere that unplugging and plugging back in might help,  it did. Wish someone would have posted that 3 years ago!

install the windows XP/vista drivers, this worked for me on pc and laptop that would not connect.
