Hello, I am trying to secure my home network. I noticed that the SHD is running samba and provides write access to its internal storage over the network without any password. I would very much like to disable samba on the device. Would it be possible to add a configuration page toggle to make samba optional?

3 simple steps:

1. Enable SSH on minidsp's volumio: http://minidsp-ip/dev
2. SSH login using an SSH client such as putty. For login credentials you have to raise a support ticket to minidsp
3. Run the command: sudo service smbd stop

But, if I am not mistaken, SSH login could harm your minidsp's warranty. If it is the case, I guess that MiniDSP team will let you know, once you ask them SSH credentials.

Oh this is great, thank you. I didn’t know SSH access was possible. For a while it wasn’t. My warranty expired years ago so I’ll do this at my own risk. Thanks again.
