Guys,
This is going to a long and annoying post but I am getting desperate. I am here asking if people have experienced any of these issues and what could be the cause.
Basically I have been trying to refresh my dirac measurement due to new drivers and crossover modification and I am having a hell of a time with it. Keep in mind I have done all these measurements and setup last year with absolutely zero problems.
I am using the same mac computer with catalina, same microphone, everything is up to date (dirac live3) but I m constantly experiencing 'network connection' lost, SHD connection lost, microphone disconnecting, Dirac unable to control SHD,  all kind of weird messages and brittleness that has made it very difficult and downright infuriating to conduct room correction measurements.
I thought maybe is a mac thing, so I figured I tried a windows laptop and only encountered a separate even crazier issue.  For instance Dirac live 3.0 installer hangs during installation! I simply cannot install dirac live 3.0 on my win10 laptop!  Could this be a firewall issue settings in windows?  How to check for that and correct it?  I could not find any help about it.
As I write I just recalled a couple of points that maybe relevant:
1-SHD disconnection seems to be related to volume settings, as I increase the volume prior to starting a measurement a connection loss on the Dirac becomes more likely
2-I recently changed my cable modem to a faster Nighthawk modem. could that have anything to do with it?  I have no issues with volumio.  When Dirac complains about Network connection lost, does that mean Dirac live 3.0 needs network connection while conducting measurements or it means SHD network?

The only problem I had the last time with my SHD Studio and an old macbook 2013 when it constantly lost connection to the SHD was an USB cable that the SHD seemes not to like. I took another (even longer, 5m) cable and everything did work with this one. But I did not use dirac, only the minidsp Software for configuring the equalizer, etc.
