Hello everybody,

I'm wondering if I could use the SHD with 2 alternate pairs of speakers on outputs 1/2 and 3/4, using presets to switch the outputs and Dirac corrections, using it a bit like a studio monitoring controller.

Also, is there a way to live stream audio to it from a computer via network or wifi ? That would allow me to send the output of my mixing rig (located in my mixing room) to the above mentioned speakers located in my living room without having to use 15 meters analog XLR cables.

Thanks !

Maikol

Yes, that could be done. Just be aware that you'd need to temporarily take the SHD to the second room when you wanted to make the Dirac Live measurements (since you'd need a computer/laptop connected by USB to both the measurement microphone and the SHD to do this).

I'm afraid I don't think there is a way to network stream as you'd asked about though.

Thanks Ultrasonic for your answers!

Actually the 2 pairs of speakers would be in the same room, so it should be pretty easy. :)

Ah, sorry, from your second question I was thinking one pair of speakers were in your studio!

Hi everyone!

I've been using my SHD like described in this thread, but recently I got back to using only one pair of speakers, and I would like to use output 3 and 4 to feed my headphones amp.

The problem is that the Dirac ON/OFF command is not saved/recalled in presets, which means I have to switch preset, then deactivate Dirac if I'm going to the headphones, and to reactivate it when I go back to the speakers, all of which is a bit of a pain as when mixing I do change quite often.

Is there no way to have the Dirac On/off position saved with the preset ?

Cheers,
Maikol

If you don't have any Dirac filters installed in a preset, then AFAIK the on/off setting for Dirac doesn't have any effect. So the solution would seem to be to only load the Dirac filters into the preset(s) that you use for speakers, and don't load them into the preset you use for headphones. You would need to reset the preset you use for 'phones in order to remove the Dirac filters, and re-install any non-Dirac EQ that you need for that preset, but otherwise it should work.
