Dear all,
First timer here. Just inherited a SHD first gen from a very good friend, and I just read some threads/workarounds about enabling a 12V trigger. It seems to be very easy with the newer SHDs with blue USB port, but not with the first generation since the USB is powered up all the time.

I found this 12V "trigger": www.audiophonics.fr/en/diy-kits-and-boar...-device-p-10661.html

Would this work correctly with the SHD? My power amp does have 12V triggers.

Thanks!

Nope, it works the other way around! If you enter 12 V it closes the power connection.
You would want it to send 12V if a current flows on the power connection.
Such a device would only work, if you always power down by the power switch on the back.
I don't think there is a solution to your problem.
Maybe a master slave plug that's sensitive enough to sense the difference in current between
SHD in standby or operating.
