Hi I just received my SHD.  I can connect to the unit from DSP or Dirac through USB, but not through network.  Volumio works fine, though.  Is this normal?

I connected SHD to both Ethernet and Wifi.  Both interfaces get IP assigned, but neither DSP nor Dirac can connect to the unit using auto scanning or manual IP.

I also changed DNS setting like some Mac people did to fix their issues, but it didn't work for me...

I tried from 2 PCs and 1 Android with Dirac.  None worked, but it proves that it's not a Windows issue.


Or did I get a defective unit?

this normal     both the miniDSP software and Dirac will only connect via USB.

Actually the devTeam could probably build a "workaround" or feature with help of the virtualhere software.

I don't know if it will be allowed to use virtualhere for a volumio plugin, but the virtualhere server works fine in trial mode
on my SHD.

So one could connect the USB Host Port to the USB-Data Port and start a virtualhere server.
Now you have to start the virtualhere client on your windows computer and connect the minidsp.
At least for the miniDSP SHD Tool you could use this connection.
For Dirac measurement I would rather still use direct USB connection. For a more reliable connection.
But even this should work.

One downside. You can't use the Wifi-Dongle for this procedure.
But the NanoPi Neo3 also has an onboard USB 2.0 Header which one could use for wifi or the data connection.

Maybe this is something for a future hardware update.
