I have two minidsps running two 3 way active speakers handling all the crossovers and I’m a little confused about fir filters.
I have the crossovers setup already and was looking to flatten the phase response of each driver.
can I measure the drivers close or do I have to measure in seating position?
I usually do normal eq corrections at 3 meters. Then I let my audyssey software handle the room modes under 3-400hz. Then I’ll use a moving mic method around my seating position and adjust from there

do fir filters get implemented before eq? Do I measure the drivers very close or in seating position and with or without normal active crossovers I have in place?

I can’t seem to find any decent tutorials on YouTube using a minidsp for a walkthrough just a lot of talk about things that make things more confusing for me. I have the rephrase software and can take measurements just don’t know how to go about getting the right data to implement some fir into my system.

also, can I use fir for the actual crossovers? So I just rub the drivers open and use fir somehow to do the crossover for each?
also, my seating position is 10 feet away.
thanks for the help.
