So I am using a ddrc24 in a recording studio environment.  I am running it as a 2.1 setup and could not work without it.  I do notice some hiss and I can tell the converters are not as good as the ones in the studio.  I am considering upgrading to the SHD as it suggests better converters and I do run the odd session at 88.2KHz which is a shame when the ddrc24 is only at 48KHz.  I can not go digital into the ddrc24 so I do have to rely on the analog inputs.
has anyone here made the upgrade and can comment on the differences of the dacs on the shd?
Also I measured the I/o latency of the ddrc24 at 14ms and was wondering what the latency of the shd was.
Not that I ever bypass the ddrc24 but I measured the bypass mode to have more latency which was surprising.

SO, I did some more tests by using the DDRC-24 as a USB device and noticed that with out the live input on the ADC side it was noticeably quieter.  I have the DDRC-24 connected to a Bryson B4 which has no volume control so when I turn up the DDRC it can become noticeable.  A few other friends of mine were also interested in the SHD as an upgrade so I took one for the team and bought an SHD from a UK supplier.  Expensive for probably diminishing returns but for delicate mastering work I am hoping things get a little cleaner.
I will report back after I have tested out the SHD.

My Ebay seller did not have any stock, they did even let me know, I had to phone them up.  So I cancelled them and ordered my SHD from here.  I will report back here when it arrives.

Well that was a journey.  I installed my SHD with no problems.  But when I started the level check process the left speaker was 6dB lower than the right.
After a deep investigation turns out my left tweeter had less to end and overall volume than the right hand side.  I remember hearing the difference in the white noise when it switched between speakers when I last made my DDRC-24 measurements.  But I just thought it like that because I have a large bass trap on the left  hand side.  In hindsight the DDRC-24 did an amazing job of correcting for this.
So after a fresh pair of tweeters in my PMC TB2's I re ran the Dirac stuff.
I have to say I am smitten with the SHD.  I can definitely hear the improvement with the DAC side of things.  Sub integration works flawlessly for me.  And now I can go XLR to the inputs and use the phono out to the Bryston 4b.
And for the icing on the cake.....
My studio computer is on Mojave which is not compatible with Apple Music App for lossless music.
After connecting an Ethernet from the SHD to one of my switches my iPhone can stream to the SHD with its lossless content!!!!!
I have arranged power so that the whole studio can be totally switched off except the SHD and bryston.
For me the upgrade has exceeded my expectations.
