I am able to connect to the SHD via ethernet but I want to use wireless.  When I go into the network configuration page the wireless connection is off.  I flip to on and save, the network goes through a reset, and the wireless connection is off again.  I've restarted without the ethernet connection - no WiFi.  What am I missing?

Have you got a wifi dongle plugged into the rear? And plugged into the usb socket, not the ethernet socket (like I've done with a printer once.... )

Yep..I had purchased a dongle and plugged it into the USB port.  That's not the issue.

Are you able to confirm that the dongle works with another device? I think you'd get the behaviour you describe if it didn't work. Quickly checking it is the behaviour I see without the dongle connected at all, which I suspect is where @EdHowarth was coming from.

As a heads-up I'll just mention that many find the WiFi connectivity a bit flaky, even with an apparently strong WiFi signal. I did, and went to the trouble of (neatly) running an ethernet cable all he way from my router to my SHD to significantly improve performance.
