All of a sudden, the OLED on my SHD is no longer turning off after 120 seconds. I tried other settings like 15 seconds and the darn thing is not turning off. I'm running 1.21 Firmware.

Tried the 'Refresh DSP Program' option to resynch my settings and that didn't do anything.

Worried about getting my display burned in.

Update -

Rebooting it fixed it, then it gets borked again when I connect it to USB. Then it won't turn off again even if I unplug the USB.

Update 2 -

Upgraded to FW 1.29. Display seems to work OK until I hook the USB up and connect with the SHD app. Then it no longer turns off after that.

Update 3 -

And now it's working ... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Funny you should post that now. Yesterday evening I spotted my display wasn't turning off and the day before I'd connected my laptop to the SHD using usb obviously.

I wonder if this does somehow trigger a bug causing the display to stay on.

Yes, I have found the same behaviour with my SHD Studio these days. After the plugin software was connected to the SHD Studio (running on MacOS), the display did not turn off anymore. (It is set to turn off after 10 seconds). I had to turn the SHD Studio off and on again to make it work again.

From what I recall the display doesn't turn off when plugin is connected through USB by design.

Correct, but it was continuing after disconnect. Although, now it appears to be working as intended again.

I recall that the screen stayed on for me after Dirac alterations (i.e., assigning Dirac config). Power cycling with the back panel switch has always restored the screen off function.

Yeah, the SHD does have a number of operational idiosyncrasies.  This is one of them.  :)
A power cycle will restore the operation of the screen-off feature.

So same thing happened to me, screen stayed on after I'd connected up my laptop just to monitor the levels. I didn't tweak anything but afterwards the screen didn't turn off. A day or so later I plugged in again to run dirac (again) and afterwards the screen went back to turning off again. Does seem odd behavior which many of us are experiencing. Sounds like one for @DevTeam
