Hi, I dont know if anyones uses the presets function, but it is very annoying, if you switch the config, and you hear first cracks when starting the loading process, and a second time, when Loading is complete. Its like pulling the Signal line out of an ancient amplifier... So back 80's, when the power went out of the amplifier, but speaker where still connected (later they used Relays and turn on on delay and turn off if power failed, before signal was corruped)...

Feature: when changing presets, do the following (please implement).
  1. store active volume in any variable.
  2. turn down volume
  3. Load new Preset
  4. restore volume at level it has been before.

Thanks a lot, it would make the product a more round product. Mybe the Bugfix would work on the other platforms as well. Little work, wide effect. Makes an impdroved, more lasting impression at the customer site than it is right now...  Lets go!

Are you talking about changing between presents you have previously saved to your SHD using Dirac Live and/or the plugin? As in swapping from say preset 1 and 2 using the remote control, web interface or control knob on the SHD itself. If you are then the expected behaviour is what you're asking for already- it is for me.

I'd suggest you contact miniDSP Support via the link at the top-right of the screen to get to the botton of what it going on. I think either you're doing something unusual, or your SHD has a fault.

Hi Ultrasonic,

Are you talking about changing between presents you have previously saved to your SHD using Dirac Live and/or the plugin? If you are then the expected behaviour is what you're asking for already- it is for me.

It does for me as well. But there is noise after pushing the preset button, then silence when loading, and then, when loaded and the new preset becomes active, another noise.
Programmers should use programmed pre delay and delay constants for disengaging and engaging outputs after the user enquires a preset change. Or use the simple volume manipulation to avoid noise at the outputs.
Imagine you have a high power amplifier with bigs speakers on it and you pull the signal line at the interface. It would make terrible noise. Thats why you alwas power off the amplifier, then change your cabling, and then power it on again... and that is exactly what i miss here...

Cheers

George

Same happens on mine switching between the stored presets.

I have run my SHD directly into a powerful power amp without any noise issues from the speakers at all, which is why I was suggesting your SHD may have a fault. The only noise I hear is from the SHD itself, which sound like a relay switching to me. This is a sound you hear with no amp or speakers connected.

The sound also fades to mute and then back up again, at the same volume as before the switch. This is what you list of four points in the first post sounded like you were asking for?

I take my earlier comment back. I hear it as @Ultrasonic describes a relay switching type sound. I was gettiing confused with when savi g presets through Dirac software I hear a crackle kind of sound.

@ ultrasonic, true, but not within that 300ms between normal operation mode and muting due to changing presets. And later egain, when coming active again, another 200-300ms noise. its more a cracking sound.
