This is an informative video from Audiosciencereview.

Watch and you'll learn there are a number of factors to be considered Wrt power supplies and the effects of untreated mains.

You need a 12V power supply. The SHD Studio does not need much current so most 12V psu will do. Certainly a 12V 300W psu. However I did not hear a difference using a 12V Sbooster.

Hi JaapDeventer,

Thank you. Regarding Power the HDplex must fit the requirements.
Regarding improov sound quality, As the Studio acts as a Preamp and Streamer, it will probably benefits from a Linear Psu.
Lets see.

@ altsouza

Surely, easy to test.. Do make sure that you have tested that linear supply and that it's DC. We've seen numerous people that
a) Introduced more issues with linear supplies (prone to ground ac noise)
b) Fried their hardware when they couldn't figure out that the output of their linear supply was indeed AC and not dc.. oops..

I have tried the SHD Studio with a Farad Super 3 power supply. I could not find an advantage in sound. Maybe it did sound even a little bit more nervous. So I have switched back to the normal supply.
