Hi! I want to know if the usb output in Motu M2 interface can be used as a digital input into SHD Studio.

Thanks.

I think you might want to verify the capabilities of that M2 unit. :)

That's nice, but i don't want to buy the interface to check if can work :-)

The Motu M2 is a USB audio class compliant device ... maybe that says something ... or the the USB input in the SHD it's only for computers?

Thanks.

Hi Mike,

Having looked at the Motu M2, we believe that it doesn't have a pair of digital outputs. It seems to only have analogue outputs. Since the SHD studio is an all-digital unit, it will not work in your case.

If you are looking to use Dirac in your system with the Motu M2, maybe take a look at the DDRC-24?

Well, it have the usb connection ... it's a digital output and also the power source.

They say it's a driverless usb 2 compliant interface (windows / mac / Linux). In other way, i'll need to use some DDC from usb to Toslink.

The other Dirac digital only device it's the ddrc22 ... it have the same Dirac processing functionality / quality as the shd studio? I don't need the Volumio streamer.

@mike70

Well we believe if you are recording/mixing songs, you must directly connect the interface to the computer for it to be recognized by your DAW. Maybe the Motu 2 works differently so better check with Motu? :)

If you are only looking to do room correction with Dirac without streamer, a DDRC-24 can simply fit in between the interface outputs and your monitor inputs. Makes sense?
