DataSquid Offline New Member Posts: 5 Thank you received: 0	I'm unable to see the new Volumio version when I click "Check Updates" on my SHD Studio. It shows I'm running System Version :1.073. I have just loaded FW 1.29. Is there some other method I'm supposed to use to see the Volumio update?

gbr Offline Elite Member Posts: 265 Thank you received: 64	And did you turn off and on the SHD once after the upgrade? I had the issue (with the older SHD hardware) after upgrading both, SHD and volumio, that the volume control did not work from upnp control apps anymore. The apps always did show 100. And when trying to change the volume it did jump to -1.5db. After turning it off and on again, it works fine now.

I just tried a power cycle (including pulling the plug) and the behaviour is the same. Mute/unmute work, but volume level changes do not. From the sounds of the firmware updates this seems reasonable to expect that there isn't backwards compatibility with the older Volumio.

I don't use the volume control often, if at all, so I'll stay where I'm at firmware-wise. Other SHD Studio owners may want to hold off until the new Volumio update is released for the SHD Studio.

That explains it: We expect Volumio v1.94 to be available in the coming 24h on the Volumio servers and note that it is at this time for Neo2 build only (Black USB host connector/SHD unit purchased before Jan 2021). See below for Neo3 builds. Still no ETA there, but no suggestion it's too far off either.

No, Dirac settings are always preserved across firmware updates, or at least they have been so far, I haven't updated to the latest few firmware versions but I very much doubt that will have changed.
