Hi there,

I think about getting into hadphones and using my SHD as DAC and streamer. I would like to utilize the XLR outs as connection to a dedicated headphone amp.

My questions (as I can't seem to find that in the manual):

  1. Which XLR channel is left, which is right (XLR 1 = left, XLR 2 = right?)
  2. Or is XLR Out 1 left AND right channel at thes same time, thus a stereo channel (I highly doubt that, but anyway...)

Sorry, if those questions are too stupid but I never used XLR before and normally the left and right channel are marked on y unit or at least in the manual, which both isn't the case.

Would be the correct way to connect the headphone amp?:

The 'plugin' (miniDSP software) lets you define what goes to each output but the most logical setup would be what you have suggested in option 1 above.

Thanks. That's what I will do, if I'll get some good headphones.
