Hi All,
I have activated a new SHD today. All went well until I upgraded the SHD with new firmware 1.21.
The upgrade procedure itself went well, no error messages. After the upgrade, the unit restarted but it cannot be reachable via USB again.
I have a MacPro 6,1 (late 2-13) running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H114).
The unit istself seems to work well, the front panel is ok, it responds corrdctly to the commands via the included remote, but is not visible via USB.
The System Report app and Audio Midi Setup (that previously showed correctly the SHD connected to USB bus and showing itself as a USD audio device, is no longer visible.
I have restarted the unit and the system several times with no success.

I tried to connect the SHD unit to my MacBookPro (with macOS Big Sur 11.1 installed) via USB and its is visible and reacheable, so the 1.21 firmware seems to create a very upleasant incompatibnility with my MacPro.

Does anyone have sono suggestion and/or any idea to solve the problem?

Do you have enabled directory sharing (or whatever it is called. See the SHD manual) in MacOS? This sometimes is required at least for dirac to find the SHD. I am not sure if it is required for accessing it as sound card. I don‘t think so. Sorry, I do not have another idea.

Thanks gbr, but the directory sharing is eventually involved during the Dirac processing.

This is an incompatibility problem with my Macpro 6,1 USB bus (but only after installation of 1.21 firmware).

After that, I have connected the SHD unit to an old MacPro 5,1 and it works fine. I have installed the Pluging and the Dirac Live SW onto this old MacPro (with Mojave macOS) and I have successflully performed the first room measurement with a good profile creation.

Not Bad but the only problem is that I have to use a different computer to perform setup and calibration...

Did you install the 'audio drivers' from the latest release too?

if I am not wrong, no audio driver are available for macOS. The macOS distribution came with a Plugin Software Package (that installs the Plugin interface app) and a XMOS_Firmware app that is used to install the plugin.

NO explicit installation of driver should be required for macOS. I have also checked the extensions installed in the kernel, and no extensions have been installed by the Package Installer.

Audio drivers are available for Windows distribution.

I have a MacBook Pro from early 2013 running Catalina and it does see the SHD. After switching to the USB input I can play music from the MacBook Pro.

You say you "restarted the unit" several times.
Does that mean you powered it all the way off and then back on?? If not, I would try that.
