Hello,

Recently purchased an SHD. After downloading the most recent firmware/plugin zip file I'm having trouble getting my windows 10 machine to detect the SHD.

Here is what I have done:
Fresh Install of Dirac 3.0
Install Plugin
Install Win Drivers - First by connecting SHD to laptop through supplied USB cable and powering on; followed by installing drivers.

When first booting up the plugin it cannot connect to the SHD or see it. Device Manager cannot see it as well.

What I've attempted to alleviate the issue:
1. Restart Windows, reboot SHD, reset SHD, hard power off SHD
2. Use another USB cable, use other USB port.

Unfortunately, I do not have another computer to try this on.

Any possible solutions?

Thank You,

„ use other USB port.“

on the SHD or the PC side?

The SHD has to be connected by the quadratic like usb port. (Type B )

Hello,

For a quick update I was able to get my laptop to see the SHD. My laptop has only two 3.0 USB ports but when I connected to a 2.0 USB Hub and used the hub to connect to the SHD it worked. Hopefully, this will be corrected in the future since 3.0 should be backwards compatible with 2.0

I've had no issue connecting using USB 3 ports on my laptop, so your issue was something else.

What firmware version is running on your SHD? Your first post mentioned downloading the latest firmware but not installing it. Note this is different to the plugin version.

Honestly,

I don't know what the original firmware was, but after I was able to connect through the Hub I did upgrade it to the latest version of 1.21. I just attempted it again without the hub and the issue still exists. Maybe this is an issue with my Microsoft Surface Book 2.

Thank You

Sometimes there can be issues with specific bits of software causing issues, like anti-virus software. You're best bet is probably to contact support as they may have come across your situation before.
