Hello,

I still have issues with tracks that start with a short stuttering. I have tried to ignore it for a while now, because I was not sure when it happens. The minidsp support answered they could not help, because the way I am playing the tracks is not usual enough they say.

Well, I am streaming via minimserver using bubble upnp server as an openhome proxy before the minidsp SHD Studio. I think this is a very common used combination?

But I found the the stuttering happens also when using the minidsp web UI. Currently I have the feeling that it only happens with hires tracks. And after qobuz has dropped the prices here in Germany and I am able to stream in hires from qobuz now, I came across these stutterings not only when streaming music locally from my NAS (minimserver), but also when streaming hires via qobuz. It does not matter if the previous track was CD quality or hires, too. So it does not seem having to do with switching the sample frequency. Astonishing is that it only happens when starting the track manually. If it is queued in a playlist the tracks all start fine, as long as you do not skip to one track manually.

Does anybody hear this stuttering, too? One example track on qobuz where I am hearing it:
Graham Coxon
Album: Superstate
Track 2: Uncle Sam

Thank you
Gert

There was one thing that I wanted to test all the time: Changing the audio buffer size in the play back settings. It was set to 2MB. When switching to any other value like 1MB, or more than 2MB, the stuttering seems to be gone. At least for the test track (96kHz, 24bit) I have mentioned above.

I will see if this helps with all tracks and sample frequency and bit depth combinations…
