I just bought a used subwoofer with its own DSP and EQ capabilities, and I intend to add it to my two channel standmount speaker system using high level inputs (from the same speaker outputs that my bookshelf speakers are on). So that means the subwoofer will not be on a third channel. What should I do regarding the dsp settings on the subwoofer? Should I tune the subwoofer using its DSP capabilities and just add that in on top of the two standmounts that are already DIRAC tuned? Should I turn off the subwoofer DSP options and runn all three speakers on DIRAC two channel? The DIRAC and SHD manuals seem to address only the scenario where subwoofer is on its own channel. Sorry if this is a naïve (dumb) question. Thanks.

Although not ideal, I’m set up in a similar way though my sub doesn’t have dsp.

The way I did it was set the gain on the sub about 10dB higher than the speakers then run Dirac.

Dirac lowered my subs level and in so doing also reduced the overlapping frequencies the speakers were seeing.

Like asx77 I would suggest running the sub at higher volume than the mains. If you haven't already setup the sub DSP I wouldn't bother, Dirac would likely be better than the sub DSP. I run my subs on a separate SHD channel only to be able have a diferent time delay. If you don't do that the sub may need to be placed the same distance away from the primary listening position as the mains to ensure time alignment. Tpically that won't be the best position for subs which normally work best against walls or in corners.
