We understand it's not a simple update, but my question is simple, @MINIDSP when should expect to receive the Roon Ready Certification for the SHD. Its clear we all love the SHD and eagerly await any substantive feedback from you.

+1 Roon-cert will make SHD-studio my absolute favorite audio product ever tested. Thank you MiniDSP for your long term support and continuous development!

Any news on Roon certification?

Going on near 4 weeks now. I can't use this device with Roon without this update. What is the status @devteam ? I was using Roon and loving the device, had to rearrange my system in a move and now I can't use Roon. Do I have a nice black brick?

Come on Dev Team - I think we deserve an update. It is well over two months since this was 'imminent ' and 1 month since note in Newsletter. What is going on and when may we expect something?

A single line update would be great!

Come on guys, give em a brake. It's a VERY difficult and lengthy up grade. They did give a timeline a while back but with CV19 causing staffing shortages , I would say it's safe to assume that any estimated timelines previously provided would be delayed by at least an additional 2 months or so.
I completely understand how having to wait so long is frustrating, especially right now when some of us are stuck at home.

And..hey.. I'm with you guys on this..I want Roon to work ASAP..especially because my dumbass accidentally disabled my fully functioning SHD /roon streamer. I was getting full high res 32/96 stream, volume control via roon app... the whole bit... Then Iast week I was clearing out some old DACs from Roon audio menu and I mistakenly disabled my SHD from Roon, DUH!!!! Now I'm stuck using volumio which kind of blows compared to Roon.

I'm sure they'll update us when they have new information to provide..

Could you - as a temporary measure until SHD update is available - install the Volumio RoonBridge Plugin.

I don't think that this will give you everything that RoonReady does - but should allow you to play from Roon to SHD.

So we have an update to properly support Dirac 3 and fix some minor bugs - but as far as I can tell doesn't touch the Roon Ready issue?

I plan to install Roon core on a NUC located close enough to SHD Studio to connect directly via USB (NUC as Roon endpoint).

Does this setup allow for playback via Roon using the Dirac room correction in SHD Studio? (I mean without Roon Ready certificate)

In October, Mini DSP promised new firmware in "the coming weeks". Now it's December and the new firmware doesn't include Roon support. I'm guessing they wouldn't have released new firmware it now if the Roon update was imminent, so maybe an update is in order? I totally get that repeatedly asking won't make it happen any sooner, but a simple one-line update would do a lot to manage expectations and prevent customers from experiencing the daily disappointment of having to check for themselves. Even "we just don't know any more" would be better than nothing.

Also, Friday's new firmware update happened without any notification form miniDSP that I'm aware of. Are users supposed to check their available downloads every day and then communicate that there's new firmware to each other? Or perhaps the Devs could a quick post in the announcements thread? Is that too much communication to ask for?

My experience with NUC+Roon core and SHD via USB. They can work properly and the sound is good.
but compare to let NUC+Roon core do their job just server and connect SHD through Ethernet sound is much much better.
or premium choice is NUC+Roon core (server) connect through Ethernet with SHD (USB) & RAAT( notebook or Macbook) this choice you can fun will hires music.

Roon recommends Roon core and endpoint should be connected through Ethernet is the best choice.
