I've been a part of this conversation since the beginning and have been pressing thank you very much.

And again that genz dig is just weird. I know you think you are a superhero defending the common man but no one needs you and you only make things worse.

Making things worse? Are you kidding me? This topic was completely dead and gone silent until I said something. They literally forgot about it. As a result multiple users including the dev team finally said something. Perhaps there was some Lost in Translation regarding what he said as one of the other users pointed out, but it definitely came across in a negative tone towards the consumer. But that has been talked about and it's over with. Rather than supporting the topic you chose to attack fellow consumers that are within logical reasoning for being upset, did you expect not to have backlash from that? You even accused a person of having personal problems in their life. That's what blows my mind. The difference is some consumers don't have the energy to fight for something they deserve. Just because I'm outspoken and not afraid to say things that need to be said does not give you any right to accuse a person of having life issues. I will always stand up for other consumers when no one else will. The expression is squeaky wheel gets the grease is a time-bound principle. And it shouldn't be. But if people like myself do not speak out, this probably would never get addressed or taken care of. You need to realize that and come back to reality instead of finger pointing

You are delusional.  And now people have to wade through your clown show to see the proper responses.

Stop being a hypocrite. You're perpetuating it. People have to sift through what you're saying too. But I'll be the bigger person here and my responses are exclusively going to be about the topic. Later tater

Do we really need 35+ rants from a guy who is probably not even old enough to tie his own shoes?
Can we not keep this thread a bit polite and meaningful, I have no use for 35+ stupid emails in my inbox!

Complains about people being childish but also simultaneously making childish responses back lol. Made my day thank you. I like Sketcher shoes with the go mat foam because it's good for my back. They don't have laces fortunately. And up until a specific user showed up I was making valid points so really you should be annoyed with the people that want to invalidate companies doing something that we paid them to do. If you went to your job and did not do something you said you would do after 22 months I'm 99.9% sure your boss would fire you. But somehow logical and valid complaints are wrong? This world is broken.

Well... we go for a little snooze and it's armageddon...
Before we reply: Please read the forum rules so everybody is on the same track. The next attack we see, we'll have to moderate as we really don't feel that it's helping here in any way to start attacking other long term members.. There is only one miniDSP member on this forum and it's under the handle devteam. There are a lot of SHD customers out there though.. :-)
Here there are: www.minidsp.com/forum/forum-rules
Thanks for everybody to please stop the personal attacks and we'll all get to enjoy what we're after. Music. :-)

We've read that thread few times and unfortunately we can't find where we've been attacking anybody so we must be missing something...We were just trying to give an honest answer on the situation.  At this stage, it doesn't sound that it's worth to engage on what word triggers this kind of response.. We can only say that as engineers, we only care of the end results. We're listening to everybody and trying to solve this from a technical point of view. :-)

Michelangelo from Volumio team already summarized the situation for everybody so you hopefully have different angles to explain. Thanks again to you Michelangelo for your support!

If everybody can please calm down, we'll hopefully have a very good news next week! :-)
Have a wonderful week end!

And yes, miniDSP DC is indeed already working for SHD series.. :-) We are just releasing it in batches for platform in the following order to make sure we get the chance to correctly support our community. Flex Eight / Flex / SHD / DDRC24 / 2x4HD

can you elaborate on this please? can this be used to trigger power amp on/off? (I have the SHD version that does not shut off usb power, so cannot use it as trigger)

@Svacht

miniDSP Device Console (DC) is actually a software GUI for the platform. It's just a new interface with new features for autoupdates of software/firmware/DSP. That's not related to the miniDC (Car Audio application). You can read a bit more on the Newsletter here: www.minidsp.com/aboutus/newsletter/listi...p-q3-2022-newsletter

I think you have misconstrued the DevTeam message.

In reality, there is nothing derogatory, argumentative, or derisive in their comment.  They simply stated a fact; the general tone of this "TIDAL Connect®thread is negative and angry, and there is very little they could do at this point to assuage the anger and frustration felt by the SHD community at large,  regarding this issue.
In all fairness, it is very difficult to take a product as complicated as the SHD and make it compatible with something like TIDAL Connect®. A fact that they clearly pointed out in their comment.  They also stated that the feature is ready to go but it cannot be launched yet since TIDAL Connect® is the intellectual property of TIDAL Inc. As a result,  MiniDSP is at the mercy of the TIDAL Devteam. to approve the design before it can be deployed.  Another fact that they pointed out in their comment and unfortunately something that will inevitably delay this feature even more.

Engineering is a complicated thing,  I am an electrical engineer and  I design many products in consumer audio.  It really does take many months,  and sometimes years,  to develop a really good product. So it's not surprising to me that it is taking so long .

In reality what miniDSP has accomplished is quite impressive. They have a product that can be continuously  improved and updated throughout its lifespan without requiring any physical hardware changes.  The ability to add things like TIDAL Connect®,  ROON-ready capability,  Standby, and auto display dimming,  are all features that were not even considered possible when the product originally launched a couple years ago.  So, it  is quite an  impressive accomplishment and they really should be given credit for what they have been able to do.

Now don't get me wrong here, I also agree  with some of your comments in regards to their Customer Service response times.  They ABSOLUTELY need to do better in this regard. I don't care how good your products are,  if you tank the customer service side of things, your business will go under!!!

Personally, I think they need to hire a separate team to handle customer service!!  I say this because as far as I can tell, it appears that MiniDSP is basically a team of engineers.   Although that makes for fantastic and really unique products,  I can tell you first hand, ( as an engineer) we don't do customer service very well!!   There aren't too many engineers that I know of that are social butterflies. People that work with customer service need to be socially aware individuals, with a bit more empathy and tact.  Had they had a team in place that could respond to customer concerns in a timely manner, I don't think we would have as many frustrated people in this thread!!!

I have to say that is one of the best responses I've seen regarding this. It's the lack of communication that was the problem. But I'm glad they have finally communicated it. By not having a team to communicate with people about this they have left open a lot of speculation that unfortunately a lot of Asian based audio and video companies tend to promise features and after years and years never even bother doing it. So it's important that they communicate this like they have finally done to reassure customers. Because it was almost at the point where many of us were being ignored as to the status. As far as misunderstandings with how things are worded, that's my fault for not taking into consideration the language barrier because I know English is not their first language. I appreciate everyone who replied with constructive messages such as yourself and as well the dev team for finally stepping in. Is literally the silence that was upsetting not the time frame of the feature. Whatever time it takes majority of us completely understand as long as it is actively being taken care of. So glad to hear it is and we can move forward.
