I had follow the Dirac Live User Manual and try to connect the Dirac Live 3.
But Dirac show no device found. Is anyone meeting the same issue ?

My enviromneit is
- Minidsp SHD with the Rev 1.13 firmware
- macbook pro with mac OS 10.15.6

I had tried using the wire or wifi network but get the same result.

As you don't explicitly say I'll just ask some basic questions: are you launching Dirac from the miniDSP plugin and do you have a USB lead connecting your computer to the SHD? Also, can you connect to the SHD using the plugin for normal operations, as distinct to Dirac?

To perhaps save you time, I will just say this... re-install your operating system.

I dealt with the same problem for some number of weeks, on both a Mac and PC. If you want to go down a very technical route, you may be able to slowly find a program using the port you need or firewall blocking a port, etc. etc.

If your not up for that, just re-install your OS.

Sure, I am lunching Dirac from the miniDSP plugin with USB connecting to my SHD. I work fine using USB to connect to SHD but fail to connect to Dirac.

Maybe I would try another computer before re-install this one...

In that case then my next thought would be to update the firmware on you SHD as 1.13 is quite old now, with there have been a number of updates since then. I don't know if any are critical for Dirac v3 but one could be.

Edit: unless from your earlier post you meant you were using the firmware that came with the 1.13 plugin download, which is firmware version 1.19?

- Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7
- miniDSP SH Studio connected via USB and identified by the DSP plugin on the Mac
- Dirac live 3.0 (downloaded today)

ISSUE: Dirac live cannot "see" the SH device. This is the case on both the Mac but also on the iOS app.

in case this means something, the SH iOS app is also unable to connect to the SH device, a "connection closed" message is issued

this renders purchasing of the SH mute...

any ideas?

Could you clarify if it is 3.0.9 you are using?

Hi, confirmed;

I brought DSP plugin up to date and finally managed to get it "seen" by Dirac 3.0 when launched from the DSP->finder.

Then I got a message about gain being too high, DL crashed and now when trying to located the SH i get the same error.

Finicky to say the least ....

Hello again, after one month, I tried to change my filters but this time is really impossible to connect Dirac Live to the SHD.

I upgraded to 3.0.9 to no avail.

Message is "could not reach or connect to Dirac devices".

any help greatly appreciated

I had issues too but tech support sorted it out for me. In my case, it was ethernet connection issue, port 8080 which is used for connecting shd to Dirac was also used by another program. Got mine to work after resolving that issue.

I read about it somewhere and checked that port 8080 is only used by miniDSP and in "LISTEN" status... so can't be this one

Update in case other people have the same issue

with help of miniDSP DevTeam we have partially addressed the problem which was inability of my Mac to start the http server on port 8080.

The idea provided by support was to run minids_dirac from terminal with explicit IP ( --ip X.X.X.X)

However I am still stuck with a very strange issue related to DiracLive app per se, despite numerous uninstall/re-install cycles it fails to initiative properly ...

Hope to get some help on this from the Dirac team directly

I have had the same problem, after being connected and everything working correctly, another day later, I could not connect Dirac, I have tried all the options that comment on the post, but nothing, until checking what I had done now different from the previous ones sometimes I had been able to connect, I had another PC, in this case a Mac turned on and connected to the same network, at the moment I turned it off the problem was solved and I was able to put Dirac to work in SHD Studio.
I hope it works for someone.
