Hi all, I'm new user of SHD. So far,I'm quite satisfied using SHD as a streamer/DRC device/preamp in my current system.

However, after I read an article from Audio Science Forum (MiniDSP SHD Review), it showed jitter and noise.

The author Amirm mentioned:"I wonder if miniDSP can look into the jitter issues and make some revision to reduce them. Better power supply decoupling and shielding would go a long way toward better performance."

www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.p...p-and-streamer.4286/

I'd like to know if there's any solution/upgrade for better power supply module for my SHD? thank you.

As I recall, the jitter and noise were well below the thresholds of audibility.

Bear in mind that Amir also said the jitter 'was not an audible concern' due to it being below the -120dB level.

To answer your question though, no, I'm not aware of any particular upgrade available.

Hi,

I run mine through a Synthesis Flos netfilter, but that's mainly for comfortable usage. The flos is capable of being turned on/of via ir so I can turn on the whole system with one flick on the IR control. It has 4 filtered outlets.

Mine is similarly connected via a Trichord isolation transformer but I don't think either of our devices will help with the issue the OP was asking about, since the suggestion from the ASR link is that the jitter/noise is caused by one part of the SHD causing interference in another. Although I suppose this is just speculation.

Yes indeed, the noise will appear under -120dB, however, I'm still wondering if the PSU been upgrade/isolate/shield, will the music being smoother or naturer? That is still one knot in my heart
