I run Audirvana 3.54 on a Win10 PC latest updates

Music source is a dedicated USB hard drive attached to PC with all ripped music files in 16/44 Flac format. I used Exact Copy to rip the files bit perfect.

Audirvana found the SHD via UPnP/DLNA and it shows that the SHD supports up to 192 PCM rates but also DSD64 & DSD128

I am now sending DSD128 via Audirvana to the SHD chip which will then down sample to 24/192 before playing.

About the sound, for me, my room and equipment the sound stage "SEEMS" to be better sending the DSD signal. This is consistent with my prior experience prior utilizing a USB DAC ( SMSL SU8 ) before getting the SHD.

Basically the SHD DAC chip is able to receive DSD signals even though the SHD design utilizes a 24/192 output.

That is not entirely true, the SHD processes everything at 96kHz.

Agreed the internal SHD processing provides an output of 96 not the 192 I stated

The resulting sound is what matters and I like what the SHD does for my system

I use the SHD because it greatly simplified my system Audrivana to SHD via network, SHD to my Crown amps via XLR and out to my speakers

It just works great for me

I agree that the Minidsp is limited to a 96 ouput, but Audirvan sees it accepting 192 and 32 bit. which may be a what the DAC chip in the MiniDSP can receive versus what it sends out.

"IF" that is true then the SHD will down sample the input signal to the 96 before sending it out

Bottom line I send a 192 32 signal to my MiniDSP SHD and it plays and sounds great
