I took delivery of an SHD today, but couldn’t get the ROON bridge working.  It appeared in ROON, but when I tried to enable it,  it gave an error and would allow it, something about unsupported platform .  Instead I used a ropiee pi device. But I really want the bridge working

Hi,
You should install Roon plug in inside volumio. It will show up in Roon’s audio page afterwards.

Dear All,

We know that our newsletter release will take a while to reach all of you, so we thought we'd send the news here for the impatient ones who've been checking regularly.. :-)
Houston we've got lift off!
www.minidsp.com/aboutus/newsletter/listi...p-q4-2021-newsletter
Update to the latest volumio v1.111, and you should see your SHD as a Roon Ready device in the coming few hours once it's enabled on Roon side (mid day UK times)..

Thanks for all your patience again, Have fun!

Brilliant and thanks!

So just to confirm, assuming I’m up to date with latest Roon software and Volumio firmware, the minidsp SHD will just show up as a ‘certified’ device under the ‘Roon Ready’ header and I just enable this?  Mine still shows as ‘uncertified’ (I’m in UK), but maybe I just need to give it more time?

Same question - time is 9.30am in Austin TX, so that should be 4.30pm in the UK...
But I still get the 'it's not certified' message from Roon....

Hey, didn’t mean to start an impatient queue of excited users wondering how quickly this will filter through.  I was just wondering if I needed to do anything more than wait for it all to activate.  Thanks again @devs.

Nothing is funnier than them screwing this up by making the big announcement before they verified themselves that Roon was verifying SHD series devices. Now all you people have no indication what’s up and it’s midnight in Hong Kong. Why not wait a single day to verify? After all these delays and headaches?

It's not that it's funny, it's just curiosity.

And 'they' didn't "screw this up"; they've done the work, and have been given a statement and date - one assumes - from Roon.

And with big long-awaited changes like this, it's entirely possible that there's a minidsperson awake and checking.

But yes, there's probably enough such enquirers now for others to see they're not alone in this and therefore not bother to clutter the netwaves with repeats.

As for me, I'll just reenable Roon Bridge and carry on listening, checking every now and then.

Thank you dev team for all the hard work getting this implemented. I love using my SHD with Roon (even with the previous workaround)!

Dear All

We're unfortunately unsure why Roon database isn't updated yet as we were told over few emails/conf call it would be at 3pm UK time. We've already emailed Roonlabs about it as most likely a little flick of a switch that hasn't happened on their side... Based from prior updates, you'll have to reboot your Roon server to be able to see the unit updated.

Thanks for your patience, we're sure it will be figured out very shortly. :-)

I did notice that Roon posted about it on their IG account, so it's definitely confirmed on both ends.

Ah, didn’t realise a reboot of the actual Roon server required.  I’ll try again tomorrow as it’s late (in fact early morning) here.  Thanks for the update.

I stopped the Roon Server process and restarted it. SHD still shows as uncertified. Guess we'll need to wait until tomorrow to hear back from Roon to see why they didn't flip the switch / what went wrong when they did.
