So I purchased a USB powered drive and it does not work. I thought perhaps using a powered hub would do it, but I tried that too and no luck. I guess what you said about the drive itself needing to be powered is correct, and even a powered usb hub doesnt work

Side question, how did you get that list of options down the left side of the Volumio menu? I can only access those through the settings.

This side menu shows on my iPad app and on my PC browser, but not on my Android phone.
Maybe it's OS-dependent ?

I think you are on a newer version of volumio. Some people are on 1.062 and there is no update. I bet your on 1.07 something.

Out of interest, how recently did you buy your SHD and did it come with 1.073?

Hi, I bought it 1 month ago and the System version says: 1.073 Released: Wed Dec 16 18:24:46 CET 2020

If You have an older version, you may be able to update it by pressing the [Check Updates] button in the "System Updates] Section ?

Thanks for the suggestion but as per a discussion in another thread the new version doesn't seem to be available to existing users. I actually asked when you got yours to check you hadn't been able to update an older unit :) .
