I purchased SHD Studio directly from Minidsp. I received the shipment today & integrated it in my system as below but there is NO Sound coming out of my system.

My system with SHD Studio is as follows:
MacBook Pro Catalina v10.15 (For Roon and Spotify using USB2 out) --> SHD Studio (USB in, SPDIF Out) —> Benchmark DAC 3 (SPDIF in, Balanced XLR out) --> Preamp, amp, speakers.

I have installed miniDSP plugin and DiracLive 3.0 on my Mac. miniDSP Plugin and Dirac is able to see SHD on my Mac. I have followed instruction for MacBook Audio MIDI Setup in the manual on page 28/29.

Now there is no sound coming out from speakers. I can not calibrate volume using calibrated UMIK-1 mic and DIRAC Live 3.0.

Here is other relevant information:
- I am using Freya+ as preamp for volume control therefor I keep SHD Studio volume at max (" 0 db). Although lower volume made no difference.
- Benchmark DAC3B is capable of handling 24-bit 96 kHz data format.
- On DAC3B I have selected spdif input.
- I have tried using Roon, Spotify, Apple Music and none produce sound (kind of obvious but wanted to state anyway).

What am I doing wrong? Please help / advice.

Is the input on the SHD unit set to USB?

Yes and I can see signal Bars in plugin (input and output).

Did you set the output on on both channels in the plugin?

In minidsp plugin, main config window: output 1 is mapped to Dirac 1 (0db) and output 2 is mapped to direc 2 (0db). Rest are off ( by default).
I can see dancing bars in minidsp output tab when I am playing music.
Did I do it right? Should I be doing something else?

Output connected to digital out 1&2?

Since channel 3&4 are off.

I think so, but just to be sure I physically unplugged all connections and reconnected everything. And now the sound is back! I’m in business.
