Is the shd series supposed to work with dirac 3? I can find and connect to the device via dirac using dirac 2 but when i try with dirac 3 shd studio shows up on dirac but cant connect. I get a network error.

If you follow the directions in the SHD users manual, you will be connecting and downloading Dirac directly from the Dirac website, which only offers Dirac 3. Plus, the MiniDSP website specifically states Dirac 3 support and the Dirac websit specifically list MiniDSP as a compatible device manufacturer.

So to answer your question in a round about way, I would say that the two should be fully compatible. I'm in the process of setting up a new laptop and see no way of downloading Dirac 2. If the SHD is not working with Dirac3, this forum would be buzzing with irate end users.

In any case, I have a SHD and am running dirac 3 without problem. The bass control feature, however, is not available for minidsp.

Also running DIRAC 3.0 for a couple of months now - no problems.

The latest software downloads from miniDSP now specifically refers to Dirac V3. Make sure you're on the latest plugin and firmware versions if you aren't already.
