Planning for a new system 2.1 setup for TV audio and music and would like to use Dirac room correction. I was thinking of the below setup and need inputs and suggestions on how to go about this.

1. TV Audio Digital Out -> SHD Studio -> L/R -> DAC -> Preamp -> Amp -> Speakers
2. SHD Studio (Roon) -> L/R -> DAC -> Preamp -> Amp -> Speakers

How do I integrate a subwoofer in the above setup?

I use an SHD (not Studio) which obviously makes it easy with 4 time aligned outputs. With Studio the obvious way of adding a sub is to add another DAC to drive it. There are also subs with digital inputs that include a DAC. Either way the separate DAC may not be time-aligned with the main DAC, DACs can have horrendously long delays sometimes. It's not an insurmountable problem assuming the SHD plugin can add delay to the least delayed DAC to time-align both DACs. In any cause you should arguably be using REW to time align mains and subs anyway so its just another delay in the system that you will be compensating for.

The way the sub is just another output from SHD means it will work the same for both use cases you list.
