Hi, I just did an update to Windows 10 Pro 64:-
2020-01 Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4497165) Successfully installed on 22/05/2020

After installation, not only were the icons on my Start Menu Tiles gone, but more importantly when I tried to connect the SHD Plugin, it could not connect. I tried several times with the same result.

I checked what the update was for and it was a very small one, just for security updates to some recent Intel CPUs. Mine is older - so it wasn't on the list. So I Un-Installed the update and everything is now back to normal. Icons on my Star Menu Tiles are back, and SHS Plugin working and able to connect. B)

Since this update may recur and because it may affect other people, it would be best to investigate why this took place..

Hardware Details:-
Windows 10 Pro 64 - 1909 - otherwise fullly up to date.
SHD - Still running the Firmware as supplied. I havn't yet got around to doing the update to Dirac 2 or the recent Firmware update.

Note:- Reading that Microsoft page on the Update again, to see if I can prevent it's re-installation, I note that they say above the list of processors:-
"Important
Install this update for the listed processors only."

I'm left wondering why Windows Update selected this update for my machine!! :silly:

I note a user running an AMD CPU also had issues!

I've run Microsofts "Show or Hide" tools (called "wushowhide.diagcab"), so the Microsoft madness should not recur... B)
