A long time ago I used a Rotel CD player. This player was unique compared to the one I had before it (a Technics) and the one after (a Linn) in that when you scanned backwards it would play the track smoothly in reverse as opposed to playing intermittent snippets of the audio.

Not that I make a habit of listening in reverse but I did use it on a couple of tracks that had hidden messages. “Empty Spaces” by Pink Floyd is one such example.

So to my question: What happens when you scan a track backwards on the SHD? Smooth playback or juddery?

Using Volumio you can only jump to another point in the track; not play it faster forwards, or back.
