I have tried this, but was not able to get this power off message in the display. Are you sure that the Studio offers this power off mode? Or is this for SHD only?

I'm pretty sure it's both but you would need to have updated to one of the two latest firmware versions to have this. Possibly you haven't?

I have got the testing device (the SHD Studio) last weekend and the first thing I have done was to update it to the latest firmware. At least in the volumio GUI. Do I have to update the SHD device itself somehow different?

At the current state I definitely do not get to an idle mode as I have retried now. Long and even longer press on the volume knob just mutes and unmutes.

For me standby works.
What firmware version do you have, I think from 1.18 standby works.

I now found how to upgrade the SHD firmware and did upgrade to 1.19 (IIRC). Switching to standby does work now. But the effect is only very small. Power usage drops from around 5.1W to 4.5W.

The volumio part in the device is still running. So I guess this draws the main power? Will it go to sleep after some time?

Idle Power Consumption20 W
Standby Power Consumption0.7 W

These are the values for the "SHD Power". This explains the 20W. But I wonder about the 0.7W standby. Do I have to restart the SHD Studio? Or is there another trick? (I will try later.)

Thanks for checking. I asked as I was sceptical how much difference the 'Power Off' made since it doesn't seem to do much, given that it's still possible to connect to Volumio having done so.

I thought I already have posted this... I have asked the support why the SHD Power has a so much less standby power consumption. The answer was:

Unfortunately only the SHD power can get that low power setup I'm afraid. On the SHD Studio, we can't easily lower the power to 0.7W without modifying the hardware. If you want 0.7W then you'd have to update to the SHD power I'm afraid...
