1.
I connect my Mac Mini music library to SHD via USB-A/B cable to the back panel port labeled "USB 2.0 Audio&Control".
It plays my iTunes music just fine.

2.
I installed and configured WI-DG wifi bridge. During install/setup, it must be connected to the same back panel port labeled "USB 2.0 Audio&Control".
Using the same USB-A/B cable, it connects to SHD, and I can control the SHD via Android app and Amazon Alexa.

3.
When I disconnect the USB-A/B cable from WI-DG, then I no longer have remote control wirelessly. So I plugged in the tiny 802.11 wireless dongle into the back panel port "USB Host". Still no remote control. (What is this dongle used for?)

The instructions never say to disconnect the USB from WI-DG to SHD. However, page 15 of the WI-DG manual states:

4.2 CONNECTING
Click on the Connect button in the [SHD] plugin user interface. The plugin will connect and change the appearance
of the button. You can then use the plugin just as though it were connected directly to the hardware over
USB.
Notes:
 If the “IP address” field is empty and the “Connect” button is clicked, the plugin will try to connect to the
miniDSP hardware unit through USB. It will not attempt to connect over the network via the Wi‐DG.

This indicates to me that the USB-A/B cable can be disconnected and wireless remote control will still work. However, every illustration shows the cable still connected.

MY GOAL IS:
I want to keep Mac Mini cabled at all times to play music, but I have no remote control because both Mac Mini and WI-DG demand use of the same Audio& Control port.

MY QUESTION IS:
How do I get WI-DG wireless control of SHD and still keep my MacMini plugged into the Audio&Control port??
