Dear reader,
I found strange behaviour between the miiniDSP IR remore control and a Oehlbach Optosel 4:1 4 way optical switch.
When using the miniDSP remote volume control UP button, the Optosel swich over from opt.1 to opt.3, which shoul'd be possible.
I send amessage to Oehlbach, but they say that the can't do anyting about that. I told them that f.i. volume Up, Down and Mute functions with RC5 codes only may be used for volume-control up-down or mute, but never for other functions.
Their reaction is still the same, we can't do anyting about that. Tgeir switching units is one of the very best optical audio switches available in the market. I have blinded the IR receiver in the unit and use at the moment the build in pushbutton to select an input.
It's a shame that the maker gives not a real solution apart that i could send the unit back with money return.
I don't believe that this difficuty can be solved by miniDSP, because they used probably the right instructions for volume control, isn't?

Hi Mollie,

I had the same issue with a dream box satellite receiver. It was using the same ir code as the shd for something different. I don't remember what it was. I was able to solve the problem since the dreambox is served by an ir-extender of the logitech harmony home companion remote I use, the shd is served directlyby the hub. Turned it off, when using shd was the trick. I think it would be hard for oehlbach to change ir codes so you probably have to live with this issue.
