I have a new SHD. Everything seems to be working fine. I'm doing 2.2 crossover/bass correction and Dirac 2.0. Roon endpoint functionality seems to work well too. The one issue I'm seeing every so often is that hitting the volume on the remote control will sometimes change the selected input (e.g. from TOSLINK to SPDIF) instead of changing the volume. Has anyone seen this on their units?

I've not seen this myself, so I'm inclined to think you have a fault with either the remote or the receiver.

Hi,

I haven't seen this behavior either, but I'm using a Logitech Harmony Hub to control the unit. Works fine for more than one year now.

I’ve had this behavior too once. Also a few times the button to lower the volume increases the volume and the volume increase button lowers the volume. Strange indeed.
Doesn’t happen often so I didn’t think too much of it though (yet).

I saw odd behaviour recently where pressing a volume button once would cause the volume to continually adjust in one direction, which was particularly worrying when it was going much louder than I wanted. It appears the issue was caused by the batteries charge getting low since replacing these solved it.

I wonder if some of the other odd behaviour noted in this thread was also battery related?

The stock remote control has not been too good for me either. It works but it is slow to respond and it does not perform well if buttons are pressed too fast. I configured an AppleTV remote to act as volume control. The SHD is 100% more responsive with the AppleTV remote and give me the feeling of a multi thousand dollar device. Highly recommended.

I have encountered something similar.
I my case sometimes volume goes up when down is pressed and vise versa.

I had similar issues with the remote when I first started using my SHD. The problem occurred even with my Logitech Harmony IR remote. The issue turned out to be with the backlight from my older LCD TV. If I turned the TV off, the remote functioned normally. I had to set the backlight of the TV all the way up and turn off the TV's energy saving features for the remote to function properly. I would suggest to turn off the various lights or lighting sources in your room one at a time until the remote works properly again, then you'll have found your culprit.
