Hi,

volumio is based on "ancient" debian Jessie. Are ther plans to upgrade to Buster? It is a potential security risk to use a version that will be supported until 30. Juni 2020 so it would be time to update. Aternatively you could support alternative distros.

I'm not sure what Buster is but I'll just comment that for me it would be essential for any replacement for Volumio to continue to offer Tidal and Qobuz support.

Hi,

Volumio is based on the debian Linux Distribution,. At the moment they use a version called jessie, which is quite old. The support for this version ends on June 30th 2020. This is a potential security issue. The support for streaming services has nothing to do with the underlying linux distribution. It is managed by volumio itself.

I didn't mean to suggest that it did :) . I was merely pointing out that for me this would be critical in considering any replacement for Volumio.

Hi,

I didn't mean to replace volumio, just the underlying Linuxdistroas it is ancient. In this thread www.minidsp.com/forum/shd-series/16792-a...tware-nanopi-neo-shd there could be a discussion about different distros and frontends.
